Some of Chris' happiest days of his life were those spent in high school at Rockhurst. The camaraderie, friendships and close knit fraternity he experienced there helped mold his character and personality. His integrity and quiet confidence, his honest, caring nature was all in some way, nurtured during his four years there.

The discipline and hard work it takes to succeed scholastically at Rockhurst is well known and from his first visit there in 8th grade, he knew it was the school he wanted to attend. He worked hard and sometimes struggled with the work load demanded of him, seldom complaining or taking shortcuts. He involved himself in the various school activities, participating in football, Frisbee, and the yell leader squad. His proudest achievement was acting as a Senior Brother for a group of freshmen and hosting and leading them through their Retreat. That activity and his Senior Kairos retreat experiences were some on his fondest memories.

His gentle nature and strength of character, the fair and honest way he treated all people was plain to see for all who knew him. His high school years were we think, his most enjoyable and his love of the Rockhurst bonds that were formed during those four years have sparked us to start a scholarship fund in his name so that those who have the monetary need and share the same desire he had to attend, will have a chance, in his name, to reach that goal.

We have started the Christopher Ryan Camarena Memorial Scholarship Fund. Proceeds of this fund will help eligible incoming students an opportunity, in our son's name, to receive financial help in attending Rockhurst High School. Many of our friends have already donated and we cannot thank them enough for their love and support of Chris and our family. Their generous contributions will help us reach our goal of fully funding his Scholarship so that Chris' name will carry on for years and help us realize his goal of always helping others in need.

Contributions can be made to the fund at anytime and in any amount. If you should want to help financially, the information below will allow you to do so.

Caps and T Shirts Information

HERE ARE THE CAPS DESIGNED BY JOHN MUSGRAVE. THESE ARE TOP QUALITY FLEXFIT LOW PROFILE CAPS, THE FAVORITE CAP OF CHRIS!! $20.00 EACH* The "Flying Logo" and writing on each cap is fully embroidered and stitched. AVAILABLE IN ORANGE, PUTTY, GOLD and TAN . Low Profile Twill Flexfit® Cap.

Most caps are available in s/m or m/l. The small/medium will fit most head sizes. The tan colored caps are the "soft" unstructured Flexfit cap.

The tan hat above is the unstructured "soft" Flexfit. The clear "Static Cling" window stickers are 6" in diameter and have the original "Flying At Twilight" logo. Great for dorm rooms or cars. These do not have glue on them and are easily peeled off. We have a very limited number of the blue sports visors that were specially made for last year's fund raiser, "Following in Sam & Chris' Footsteps.

The T-shirts above are the new ones made last year for the run. We have a limited quantity of these "daily wear" t's in most sizes. These are silk screened with the 'NO Regrets" logo on the breast and the "Flying" logo on the back with the website URL. These are top quality t shirts and really look great!!
